From Humble Beginnings to Award-Winning Flavor

RD’s BBQ & Soul Food started with a simple dream and a whole lot of flavor. At just six years old, Robert was already an entrepreneur selling eggs, candy, and even hamburgers to the neighborhood. In 1993, he met Sylvia, a Philly native who had learned the art of soul food from her mother and grandmother. Together, they blended Robert’s passion for BBQ with Sylvia’s rich family recipes, creating a menu full of tradition, love, and bold flavor.

What began with backyard cookouts soon grew into catering for friends, winning BBQ competitions, and becoming a staple at festivals across California and Colorado. Since moving to Colorado in 2011, RD’s BBQ has served at The Taste of Colorado, Jazz Festival, Juneteenth, the Metro Denver Farmers Market, and more earning a reputation for the best BBQ and soul food around.

Rooted in faith and fueled by passion, Robert and Sylvia have built RD’s BBQ & Soul Food into more than a business it’s a place where food, family, and community come together.
